Asymptotic analysis of the Hermite polynomials from their differential-difference equation
We analyze the Hermite polynomials Hn(x) and their zeros asymptotically, as n → ∞. We obtain asymptotic approximations from the differential-difference equation which they satisfy, using the ray method. We give numerical examples showing the accuracy of our formulas.
متن کاملGeneralized Hermite Polynomials and the Heat Equation for Dunkl Operators
Based on the theory of Dunkl operators, this paper presents a general concept of multivariable Hermite polynomials and Hermite functions which are associated with finite reflection groups on R . The definition and properties of these generalized Hermite systems extend naturally those of their classical counterparts; partial derivatives and the usual exponential kernel are here replaced by Dunkl...
متن کاملThe Relativistic Hermite Polynomials and the Wave Equation
Solutions of the homogeneous 2D scalar wave equation of a type reminiscent of the “splash pulse” waveform are investigated in some detail. In particular, it is shown that the “higher-order” solutions relative to a given “fundamental” one, from which they are obtained through a definite “generation scheme”, come to involve the relativistic Hermite polynomials. This parallels the results of a pre...
متن کاملOn Hermite-hermite Matrix Polynomials
In this paper the definition of Hermite-Hermite matrix polynomials is introduced starting from the Hermite matrix polynomials. An explicit representation, a matrix recurrence relation for the Hermite-Hermite matrix polynomials are given and differential equations satisfied by them is presented. A new expansion of the matrix exponential for a wide class of matrices in terms of Hermite-Hermite ma...
متن کاملQuantum Hermite Interpolation Polynomials
Abstract. The concept of Lagrange and Hermite interpolation polynomials can be generalized. The spectral basis of idempotents and nilpotents of a factor ring of polynomials provides a powerful framework for the expression of Lagrange and Hermite interpolation in 1, 2 and higher dimensional spaces. We give a new definition of quantum Lagrange and Hermite interpolation polynomials which works on ...
